The 20th IGF Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on November 18-20, 2024 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, hosted by UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) with the theme Redefining Mining: Balancing the Need for Minerals with Protecting People and the Planet. More than 400 delegates attended the event in person, with more following online. The AGM included 12 plenary sessions and several side sessions which featured government representatives from the IGF’s 85 member countries as well as experts from industry, civil society, non-governmental, and international organizations. The AGM was highlighted by IGF publication launches and partnership announcements.
Following the AGM, more than 100 officials convened at the IGF Government Forum, a one-day interactive workshop in Geneva. Throughout the day, the Secretariat team engaged with officials to learn about their priorities and explore opportunities for collaboration.
