About the Global Mining Tax Initiative
The Global Mining Tax Initiative is a specialized program to help IGF members with all aspects of fiscal policy, including taxes, royalties, and financial modelling. It provides unique expertise on international tax challenges related to the global mining sector. The initiative builds on the knowledge developed under the IGF’s tax Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) in Mining project, established in 2018 in response to requests from IGF member countries and in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. The Global Mining Tax Initiative is a major component of the International Institute for Sustainable Development’s taxation program.
