IGF at 2022 Mining Indaba

The IGF and representatives from member countries attended the 2022 Mining Indaba conference in Cape Town, South Africa. During the conference Secretariat staff contributed to and organized several events discussing critical issues facing mining policy-makers and other stakeholders, including:

• May 9 | Presenting during the Women in Mining Lunch, hosted by Austrade
• May 10 | Organizing the Gender and Mine of the Future breakfast meeting, in partnership with High Commission of Canada in South Africa
• May 10 | Moderating a Sustainability Day panel discussion on ESG and stakeholder engagement
• May 11 | Organizing the New Tech, New Deal breakfast meeting in partnership with GIZ
• May 11 | Joining a main-stage panel discussion on how to protect and legitimize artisanal and small-scale miners
