Antonia Strachey is the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Tax Office's (FCDO) international tax policy advisor. She joined FCDO from the UK tax administration (HM Revenue & Customs [HMRC]), where she worked on combating offshore tax evasion. In that role, she engaged in country-level capacity building to help address offshore tax evasion risks. Before joining HMRC, she was seconded to the European Commission where she worked on development effectiveness. In past roles, she has worked on sanctions, illicit finance, and soft power. She earned her doctorate at the University of Oxford, where she specialized in the history of taxation and public finance in South Asia.
