Marina Ruete

Lead, Policy and Programs

Marina Ruete is Lead, Policy and Programs with the IGF, supporting senior management in overseeing operations and project execution. She also leads the Secretariat’s work on Mining Policy Framework assessments and implementation.

A lawyer (LL.M) with almost 20 years of experience in the private sector, development banks, and international organizations, Ruete has worked on mining laws and policies, public procurement of infrastructure, goods and services, and finance with a strong focus in Latin America and the Caribbean.

She previously served as IGF Senior Law Advisor with the IGF and led the Secretariat’s artisanal and small-scale mining program and activities in Latin America and the Caribbean and Southeast Asia.

Ruete is fluent in Spanish and English and is proficient in French and Portuguese.
