Murtiani Hendriwardani is a Policy Advisor with the IGF. Her work focuses on the policy aspects of critical and strategic minerals for the twin energy and digital transitions. Murtiani also serves as coordinator for IGF member countries in Asia-Pacific and Europe.
She is a dedicated and experienced practitioner with a track record in public policy research and multistakeholder partnership and collaboration. Murtiani has extensive experience working across multiple sectors and functions, including financial services, management consulting, international development, and corporate foundations. Since 2010, Murtiani has been involved in various sustainable development projects in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. She has provided expert advice in renewable energy initiatives in West Africa and various in-depth policy and market research, including regulatory and institutional assessments for public–private partnership/project finance in West Africa, reforestation and carbon finance in Central and East Africa, economic diversification in Central Africa, and blended financing for sustainable agriculture in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
Murtiani has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Columbia University and a master's degree in public affairs from Columbia University and the London School of Economics.
Based in Basel, Switzerland, Murtiani speaks English and some German and has a basic understanding of French.
